Dozens of children gathered to create sandcastles and sand sculpture on
Kuta Midway on Thursday afternoon.
Everyone was excited and eager to start!
Sandcastles took on a distinctly 'volcanic' style with cones quickly becoming the yardstick. Cones were what you built around. Get a good cone and you are well on your way!
Mogul designs were also very popular with unsupported arches with peaked tops.
Down at child level, suddenly the landscape made sense.
Judging was painstaking. Long and hard....
The judges pondered and conferred...
The map of Bali, above, glowed in the
sunset on the western side, whilst
losing sand on the eastern coast!
The children were all rewarded with
tubs of ice-cream.
Prize giving was eagerly anticipated and the winners received Surfer Girl goody-bags.
