hi guys,

just a quick email and a few pics of things so far. the boys have settled in well and to be honest I don't think they want to go home. massages , spas, warm weather, waves and cocktails ! Who'd want to leave this place ?

The local crew and media are all over these guys and Reef has definitely set the standard for next years Kuta Karnival which will be bigger and better. Poster signing yesterday was a huge success and we plan to do it again today.

Biano has been teaching the local boys and our team riders a few new tricks and pushing the limits with his ramp transitions.

Today Margo will be going in the open and tag team event. Surf is small but good shape.

later,

PAUL and WIN

Subject: Bali tomorrow

Dear organizers of the Kuta Karnival,

I have been reading with great interest the Karnival reports.

I will be back in Bali tomorrow for three days only. I am returning for the ceremony and then back home to work. This is my 23rd visit to the most beautiful and important island in my life. I hope all goes well for the ceremony. Well done to you all for the fantastic coverage.

Dear Friends

I'd be happy to contribute some Books to give away - I have just emailed Indograph to make available 10 Japanese books and 10 English of INDO SURF & LINGO for the Kuta Karnival . Please phone him to make sure they're ready to collect. I wish I was able to afford more, but hopefully next year. My time and effort I am happy to contribute though, having emailed over 100 separate websites and surf mags about the KK and Extreme Surf week.

Hi Sil and The Zurya Team-

So nice to read about the "doings" in Bali! Our family are lovers of Bali and travel there often for business and the special gifts which your spiritual island has to offer. It was a pleasure to receive such a nice and positive e-mail message. Our family was here in New York for 9/11 and we felt a similar deep sadness in our hearts when we received news of the Bali bombing. It is events like the Zurya Drum Collaboration which celebrate different cultures and global humanity that make life worth living sooooo..... congratulations to all on your event and keep the beat going!!

Hello,

My name is Nick O'Neill and I live in Seminyak. I do a travel site that encourages people from all over the world to come to Bali. I moved here on Jan 1st 2003 and hope my work will help Bali on its way back to economic health.

http://www.baliblog.com

I will be covering some of the events in the Karnival and it would be wonderful if you would link to my site.

People around the world really don't know the culture and beauty, not to mention the talent that exists here in Bali and I intend to highlight that over the coming years.

Thanks for your time.

Nick

My husband, myself and our 16 year old son will be staying in Kuta from 6th to 17th - we were in Bali last year 2 weeks before the bombing. We raised over $10,000 here in West Australia which went to help the Balinese victims and their families. We will be attending the remembrance to pay our respects but also are planning to have an enjoyable holiday as I feel the best way we can help in the recovery of Bali is to be there & tell all our friends what a great place it is to go to for a holiday - so congratulations on all you're doing and looking forward to arriving.

Regards
Anne Russo

Hello to all involved in this GREAT event, I wish I could be there to share these times with you all. I left Bali early September this year but my heart, thoughts and love remain. I would like to make a special mention of "AdoptA Co-op", a small group of Indonesian widows who lost their husbands that horrific day in Bali. These ladies manufacture and SELL various garments, bags, T shirts etc. I ask all there to give them your support, as they say "Smile for Life"........ May the Gods Bless all....and MY Bali.... Pak Jim

Reply from Chris Fritz - KSBA

Dear Jim,

the widow groups are part of the Kuta Karnival, present in the International Food Festival 20/21 September and 4/5 October as well as in the Bazar Rakyat/Community Bazar 27/28 September and the Ground Zero co-ordination center.

Thanks a lot for your kind words and hope to see you soon...

All the best

Chris

Hi guys at surfer girls, just wanted to tell you that the web site is fab and I wish you all the love in the world for the Kuta Karnival, a celebration of life.

My husband is from Indonesia, now we live in England, but we too lost friends in the bombing last year.

To see that people are able to come from all over the world and celebrate the lives that were lost is inspirational to all of us. What you are doing means more to some than you will ever realise. Thank you.

Should you ever need posters put around London then I will gladly help you. Please contact me if I can.

Thanks and enjoy it, its what those that were lost would want.

Jennifer Istiawan.

Hello,
i just need to acknowledge all the efforts of those involved in this magnificent contribution to Bali and how impressed and inspired i am by your actions and expression of your commitment to making this event happen. Alongside with what is happening through your efforts now you are also creating and establishing for the future a foundation, infrastructure, precedent, a CONTOH yang Bagus [ the hardest part really] for others to put together other events, communicate and share with each other what is essential.......unification. I congratulate and thank you for the dedication and love you are expressing....towards creating new world paradigms in peace. martina
